Charting Cary’s Future, Together
Champion of smart and balanced growth – ensuring our water, sewer, parks, services and roads keep pace with development, currently 1-3% annually. New and redeveloped uses should respect and protect the environment, be walkable, and follow our strict environmental ordinances.
Environmental protection and sustainability should be a cornerstone of everything we do – from stormwater infrastructure to solar on new facilities, increasing Cary’s tree canopy, and expanding our electric fleet. We will lead the region in sustainability and build a climate-resilient future.
Implement our Cary Housing plan, partner with development to add Affordable Units to new projects, increase the mix of housing options (such as ADUs, duplexes, etc.), and increase investments in rehabilitation programs for existing affordable housing stock.
Continue investment in programs that improve lives: adding additional transit, parks, and greenways, add separated bike lanes, new community and senior centers, and focus on creating walkable neighborhoods. Continue to invest in arts and culture – and always involve the community.
Meet councilmember Lori Bush, a passionate leader dedicated to improving Cary. Committed to inclusivity, she works relentlessly for an environmentally and economically resilient future, shining a light on the lives of its people.
