Balanced Growth

Champion of smart and balanced growth –ensuring our water, sewer, parks, services, and roads keep pace with development, currently 1-3% annually. New and redeveloped uses should respect and protect the environment, be walkable, and follow our strict environmental ordinances.

My Priorities, Plans & Vision

  • Cary continues to be a desirable place to live, work, play, learn, and have a business. I champion our smart and balanced growth plan, ensuring that our infrastructure keeps up with that growth, which is between 1-3% annually.
  • New and redeveloped uses should respect and protect the environment, be walkable, follow our strict environmental ordinances, and be sensitive and align with and/or transition to surrounding neighborhoods.
  • We have limited undeveloped land left in Cary – so over time, more of the developments that will come to Council will be for “infill” or“redevelopment.” We must continue to adhere to our guiding document, our citizen-created Cary Community Plan.
  • We are progressing towards an updated version of our Cary Community Plan adopted in 2017, with new ways for our citizens to engage and help drive our collective vision for the future of Cary. We are currently updating the Parks, Recreation, Cultural Resources Master plan - please participate and share your views! Click Here to Learn More
